AI Use Statement

Biology & Molecular Medicine follows the COPE guidelines regarding the use of AI tools in scholarly publishing.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors.“Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even those parts produced by an AI tool, and are thus liable for any breach of publication ethics” (COPE, Authorship and AI Tools)
AI tools may be used to assist with:

Improving language, grammar, and presentation
Enhancing editorial clarity However, their use must not interfere with the integrity of the scholarly work.

Disclosure Requirement: Any AI usage should be clearly disclosed in the Materials and Methods section.
Authors are fully responsible for:

The accuracy and integrity of all manuscript content
Selecting the study design, appropriate statistical tools, and references
Drawing conclusions from their results without relying on AI judgment

Authors must not use AI tools to:

Determine appropriate methodologies
Select citations
Draw scientific conclusions

Cautions:

AI tools and large language models (LLMs) are trained on human-created datasets and may introduce bias or unsourced claims
All authors must review and approve any manuscript content that was edited or generated using AI

Research ethics

✅ Confirm all authors:

Have met ethical standards
Approve the final content of the manuscript

✅ Submit the manuscript in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format
